Our Students
English Language Matters caters for students, over the age of 14, from every country and culture. We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to all student requirements regarding study, support and accommodation.
Our students enjoy a multicultural environment which brings together a diverse group of students, creating a dynamic atmosphere in which to study and learn. We encourage students to speak English at all times, and offer Kiwi buddies, to befriend the students to give them more opportunity to socialise and converse with native English speakers. We have regular school outings where a class, or the whole school, go out and enjoy Dunedin’s activities and attractions.
At any one time there are generally 5 or more different nationalities including Japanese, Korean, Swiss, French Polynesian (Tahiti and Noumea), Saudi Arabian, Chinese, German, South American, Taiwanese, Thai and a variety of other nationalities. In class activities, students are often paired with someone of another nationality and many long lasting friendships are made.
