Dear Reader How are you? I am very well, and I had a wonderful weekend. How was your weekend? What did you do in the weekend? I had a busy weekend, and it started on Friday night when I met my oldest daughter and nine year old granddaughter, and went to a café called Tangente for a drink and a chat. My nineteen year old daughter, Shahan, is working there as a part time job, and it was nice to be able to have a talk with her too because they were not busy. It is a relaxing space, and it was a pity that there were no other people there. There is a good band on a Friday night, and I hope people hear about it and go. It was such glorious weather on Friday night, wasn’t it? It was about 24 degrees, even late at night, and when I walked up my lawn, I could see the moon, and it felt so romantic. Han had lit candles outside on his deck, and I sat on my verandah and looked out to sea. I felt a little lonely, thinking about my former house as I had worked so hard to create the beautiful environment. For the first time ever, I went down to the local Portobello pub, and talked to some local people as I sipped one glass of wine. I returned home feeling better, and went to sleep happily. In the morning, it was a fine morning, and I had a cup of tea with my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren in Harwood, just five minutes by car from my house. They live right on the harbour, and you look across to Port Chalmers and the big container port. When the massive cruise ships come in, you can see these ships towering over the port. They are very impressive. After having a nice chat with my family, I went into town to visit my mother who lives in a retirement home, and my niece. I invited my niece, her husband and one year old son for dinner on Sunday night. We had a lovely time with my son, my thirty one year old daughter, Nicky and her two children. On Sunday morning, I went for a lovely walk to the aquarium with my neighbour. We met some friends on the way, and stopped for a chat. The weather was stunning, and we looked across to Port Chalmers where we could see the last cruise ship of the season. In the afternoon, I cut the grass, and then sat under a tree and enjoyed relaxing. The garden looked beautiful and I felt very happy. On Saturday night, my son invited his girlfriend for dinner, and we had a lovely time. I lit the fire, and I love sitting in the cottage, enjoying the fire. Another friend also popped in, and I love friends just arriving without calling first. I love being with my friends and family in my little cottage. I look forward to hearing your news. Please write back to me soon!
